Unit 8: Final Performance Evaluation
My Final Performance
The final performance of 'Stuff' was beyond my wildest expectations. After spending all day rehashing and ensuring everything was ready to perform the time had come. I was ready to bring my best performance on to the stage, including the tip I received from Kelly that day too increase my projection.I took that advice and made sure I projected my heart out on that stage. When it came to performance time the entire cast was sitting backstage getting ready to perform. we were all a little worried and nervous, but we were making sure each and everyone of us was ready to perform and supporting each other.
Nevertheless, we were all excited to actually perform in front of an audience for the first time in over a year. After the chaos of the past year, this made the performance so important to us. I watched the first scenes happening and everything was going well. Finally it was time for my entrance, I found it very nerve racking. I had never had such a big role before or had this many lines on stage. I was hoping I was going to do well but still anxious in case anything went wrong. So, I was on stage and I felt I was doing well. I remembered my lines and I was gaining loads of laughs form the audience. I felt amazing! I had so much fun being up on the stage and acting, creating a connection with the audience. I had forgotten what this felt like. This was the first time I was a main character and I would never regret auditioning for a larger part. I could hear my family laughing in the background and their support helped me to feel confident. What I consider to be my main scene was quite intimate with just Matt and I. I considered our chemistry to be good and felt throughout the performance and our timing felt right. Moreover, the other members of the cast were amazing. Even before the performance we were able to give each other feedback to work on and able to feed off each other. Overall this just felt like the best performance we had done so far. I think having the stage lights and the audience there really gave us the energy boost we needed to produce a great piece of work. After the performances Kelly was really proud of the whole class and told us we had done a great job. This was really satisfying to hear, that all our work was validated.
